MYEEP in SF career day
MYEEP in San Francisco is an event in which hundreds of MYEEP youth enter businesses throughout the city to get a glimpse of the careers and jobs available to them. Youth are given the opportunity to talk to people about their career paths, gain insight about various careers, and complete tasks that are representative of those careers. With this information, youth are able to make more informed decisions about their futures.
MYEEP University day
MYEEP University Day is an event in which hundreds of youth invade a college campus. While on campus, youth explore college life. They talk to students, attend classes, visit dorms, learn about non-academic activities, and gain insight about attending college. It is our hope that youth leave the event feeling like they make want to engage in college life.
BizAcademy
BizAcademy is a five-day intensive course designed to teach basic business and entrepreneurial skills to high school students in San Francisco during Spring break. 15 youth from the Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) form consulting “companies” to address issues ranging from employee productivity to greening businesses. Funded by a grant from Salesforce Foundation, the program helps youth to develop marketing, sales, public speaking, and financial skills. Local business leaders and salesforce.com volunteers are onsite to mentor students throughout the week.
