Youth Leadership Program

The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is MYEEP's youth leadership component.

At the beginning of every program year, three youth are selected from each collaborating agency to develop their leadership skills, while supporting the mission of the program.  CITs begin their leadership experience at a weeklong retreat where they develop facilitation skills, learn more about their roles, gain a better understanding of themselves, and network with other youth.  CITs also attend weekly meetings to continue their skill development.

After the retreat, CITs return to their respective agencies to work with the MYEEP Coordinators in supporting the development of the program participants.  Their roles include developing and facilitating workshops, leading activities during program-wide events, managing the relationship between participants and their worksites, and serving as ambassadors of MYEEP.
